Founded For Comfort And Utility: The Beanie Factory Story
U.S. Army veteran , The Beanie Factory founder spent countless hours in uniform — a uniform that included a bulky, constricting, sweaty, and itchy hat underneath an already-heavy helmet. To say he was uncomfortable while in the field was an understatement. He wasn’t alone, either: fellow troops had the same complaint about the beanies they had to wear.
When he was discharged from the service, he set out on a mission to find a beanie that would keep other soldiers — as well as tradespeople, hobbyists, or anyone who hates restricting clothing — comfortable. He first tackled the seams that dug uncomfortably into his scalp, inventing a new configuration that didn’t cause bunching, itching, or rubbing.
The Beanie Factory, and the patented H-stitch, were born, and the rest is history.
